Product Description:
Coffea robusta, known botanically as Coffea canephora and commonly referred to as Robusta coffee or Congo coffee, belongs to the Rubiaceae family. This robust shrub or small tree, which can grow up to 10 meters tall, is native to central and western sub-Saharan Africa. Its large oblong leaves with wavy edges distinguish it from Coffea arabica. The plant produces small white flowers and coffee cherries that contain the coffee beans. Coffea robusta is primarily cultivated in Africa, particularly in Uganda, Cameroon, and Ivory Coast, as well as in Southeast Asia, with Vietnam being the largest producer globally.
Industrially, Coffea robusta extract is widely used in food and beverages, particularly in coffee products and coffee-flavored items. In cosmetics, it is valued for its antioxidant properties, which improve skin texture and appearance. The extract is also incorporated into pharmaceuticals and nutraceuticals, especially in dietary supplements aimed at weight management and mental alertness.
